Week 7: Qi Gong with Bev Welch - Calm the heart fire
Time & Date: 12 January, at 8:00am
Week 5: Calm the heart fire
This 8 week course will introduce you to the amazing benefits of Qigong Flow & Meditation. I will teach you how to use these ancient practices to work with your unique body to relieve stress, hot flushes, brain fog and joint pain while improving muscle tone, bone health & general wellbeing.
What is Qigong?
Qigong (pronounced chi- gong) is often referred to as “Chinese Yoga”, moving meditation & dynamic relaxation. Using a combination of slow flowing movements, body tapping, the breath & intention we will encourage the free flow of energy or Qi through the body. Qigong leaves you feeling fit, energised, calm & strong. It encourages restorative sleep, good digestion, clear mind, vitality & happiness!
Who is it for?
Anyone can benefit from a regular Qigong flow practice, though you are encouraged to go at your own pace. Qigong masters say that in order to get the Qi to flow one must only use 70% effort.
Benefits : Studies have shown that Qigong
Reduces anxiety
Reduces stress hormones
Reduces inflammation
Boosts immunity
Improves sleep quality
Reduces blood pressure
Improves mood
Promotes relaxation
Supports cardiovascular health
Pain reduction
Strengthens & tones body & mind
Improves cognitive function
Has a positive effect of bones & joint health
For your convenience classes are just 30 minutes long so I would encourage you to try to practice them again at least 3 times a week to receive the full benefit - wear comfortable clothes, bare feet or soft shoes and bring a cushion and blanket as we will end each session with a seated relaxation, meditation or breathwork.
